; Additional NotesThe Checklist of British & Irish Basidiomycetes (2005) p384 in the Excluded section: 'Excluded species on CBIB: Not authentically British. Mentioned on dead stems of Solanum tuberosum by W.B. Cooke (1961) but no voucher material traced. Doubtfully distinct from Calyptella capula'. This is suprising statement given (with reference to Funga Nordica), the spores of C. gibbosa are clearly smaller (5-7 x 2.5-4.5) from C. capula (7-12 x 3.5-5).
