Record Details

15/05/2021 Northwold; TL749972; compost; Kate Risley; Tony Leech; Derek Schafer; "Image and material sent to Derek Schafer for confirmation and sequencing."; DNA barcoded
; Additional NotesTwo collections, on compost in a cardboard tube in greenhouse; A was dried quickly, B was dried slowly. Both sequenced by Alvalab. Consensus sequence matches 99.7% (616/618) to PX375225 Narcissea cordispora. DS comments that in the original description of Corprinus cardiasporus by Herr Bender in 1986, the type is listed as in the author's herbarium but the subsequent publication in 2020 of the Wächter & Melzer paper on the family Psathyrellaceae stated the holotype of N. cardiaspora was 'not available'. It is unclear whether the type had disappeared or was just not provided.
