Record Details

28/10/2024 Holt; TG085400; Tony Moverley; NFSG DNA Team; "10-12 fruitbodies on soil in a ring surrounding stem of recently planted Corylus (hazel) in a hawthorn roadside hedge."; DNA barcoded; Genbank:PZ113252; Lit. cited: 132;265
; Additional NotesITS barcode has 99.7% match (675/677) to the holotype of H. pseudofragilipes (NR_152906). However, Becker states (on Hebeloma.org) that H. pseudofragilipes and H. fragilipes cannot be differentiated by ITS barcodes. Cheilocystidia measurements support the identification as H. album [=H. fragilipes]. Ursula Eberhardt agrees that H. fragilipes appears to be the most likely identification. Awaiting barcoding of the mitSSU V6 locus.
