Matches (654/656) epitype ITS sequences: NR_185445 and OP164094."; DNA barcoded; Genbank:PV265829; K-M001445550; Lit. cited: 132;205;298
; Additional NotesOver 15 fruitbodies in grass dominated by Strawberry (Fragaria) half way between a small Ash (Fraxinus) tree and a Scot’s Pine (Pinus sylvestris). I found over 6 more fruitbodies (macro & microscopically identical) 30th October 2024 on the same site but in clear association with Pinus sylvestris. Cap: smooth, dark brown, splitting radially, up to 4cm diameter to reveal pale flesh. Slight umbo visible on some caps. Gills: pale brown, free, crowded. Stipe: 40 x 5mm, widening to a bulbous base (c.8mm diameter), noticeably darker towards apex. Smell: No smell detected (but my sense of smell is severely depleted)
