Gills crowded, pale greyish white. Stem ochraceous with darker bands, widening to a basal bulb. A very pleasant, sweet smell, like apples. No reaction with 10% KOH. A whole range of sizes of fruitbody. The largest had a cap diameter of about 70mm in diameter, too large to bring home.
